Does anybody know about the stitch called "cross stitch" here goes:
CO 50 Sts
Row 1: K1, YO rep from * across.
Row 2: *With yarn in back sl 4 sts as to purl dropping the YO's; insert left-hand need into first and 2nd sts on right had needle, pull them over the 3rd and 4th sts onto the left hand-needle, the sl the 3rd and 4th sts, then the first and 2nd sts: rep from * across
Rows 3-6 Knit
Rep Rows 1-6 for pattern
This is my question if you're dropping the YO's and the 1st st on Row 2 is a YO, HUHHHHH!!!!!!!???????
Help guys.
Also does this stitch have a different name. I tried looking it up because if I could see it I could figure it out. The picture I have is a really bad one.

Fri, September 14, 2007 - 9:00 AMWow. I'd go "HUH???" too! Here's another pattern for a cross stitch...it's a lot different than what you've described...does it look like this?

I got it off someone's blog. Hope it helps. -

Re: Need help with this stitch
Fri, September 14, 2007 - 9:13 AMI'm thinking that the first row directions are wrong...
Row 1: K1, YO rep from * across.
I'm wondering if it's supposed to be *K1, YO ending with a K1...because it doesn't make sense (to me, anyway) to have a yarnover at the end of the row.
I guess a test swatch (or two) is in order to see what the stitch looks like. That's a bummer that the pic is not a good one. -

Re: Need help with this stitch
Sun, September 16, 2007 - 4:55 AMHey Sandee
As soon as I hook up my scanner I'll post a pic. I figured it out on my own just playing around. At the same time I emailed the company not really expecting a response. I got one in an hour and it confirmed what I did. The instructions are written badly. All you do is let the sl drop off the needle and pick up the next stitch. This makes an elongated stitch on the needle; you do this 3 more times (4 lps) then you take the 2 loops to the far right, bring them over the last 2 onto your left hand needle then pick up the last 2 onto the left needle. you then purl the 4 sts separately. It looks very nice.
As I said I'll post a pic when I'm done.
Thanks for all your help
Karen
