I guess I prefer metal needles because I knit faster with them. To every person her's or his choice.

There's also the Harmony set that you can buy through Knitpicks.com.

I have the Boyle set myself and it's ok but the metal needles are a bit slippery compared to what I imagine the Harmony set would be like.

I have the Denise set and I'm happy with it. I like the fact that it is versatile, no need to buy tons of needles. I have no difficulty to knit with the needle set but sometimes it's a little bit hard to "push" the knitted garment on the joints and you have to be careful when you attach the cable to the needle so that it doesn't detach from each other. The needles are made of resin and I like the fact not to hear the sound of metallic ones, but it is just my preference.

Personally, I don't regret I've bought it and I like this set, but I'm a beginner knitter so I don't have much experience about other sorts of needles, so... well, I hope there will be other reviews from more experienced knitters!

Good luck!

I have the Boye's set and I make it work for me. I don't want to spend money on another set right now. Boye's tend to loosen at the screws while you're knitting and can be annoying. I've heard great things about Denise, but I think they don't have as many size needles as Boye. There's also Knit Picks which I hear many complaints about breakage, although they do replace them for free.

So that's my humble assessment.

Hope that helps

Hello,

I just joined this tribe, but I have been knitting for a while. I am considering getting a circular needle set, but I don't want to spend a lot of money and not be happy. Right now I am debating between the Denise and the Boyle sets. Does anyone use these, and what is the good and the bad?
