My current knitting project: basket weave scarf

I got this pattern from the Stitch and Bitch Nation book and love it! it's very easy, but my choice of yarn slows me down. My yarn, being a little bit fuzzy (which I also love) keeps the detail of the pattern from really coming out, so it's more subtle, which is what i was going for when choosing this project.

lovely. what is this contraption you have to hold your yarn in there. looks like a really good idea for being at home and knitting with yarn chasing cats, although a little bulky for public knitting.

That contraption is my handy dandy yarn holder. I found it at a crafts store and it comes in three sizes (the one i'm using is the medium size). It has a hole cut into it on the top so I can keep my yarn in it and just pull out what I need as I knit. So yes, it is perfect when I knit at my boyfriend's place, where he has two beautiful cats that love all things that dangle. One bad thing about this thing, is that I can not leave it in a hot car at any time. I did so once and came back to find it MELTING. So it's ok to be in a sunny place (like in the picture) just can't leave it in a car.

Oooh I love the Stitch 'n' Bitch series. Very much enjoying the latest: The Happy Hooker which is for crochet. I do find a few errors and omissions sometimes in the patterns, tho.

Scarf looks great!
